Microsoft’s Drunk Guy

January 9th, 2010 by Scott

While many are waiting to see what good bit of new sexy Apple is going to release in two weeks, some companies like Microsoft and Google rush their announcements out this week at CES. Microsoft’s “new” tablet was wholly unremarkable.

I think this has got to be one of the best encapsulations of Microsoft’s current strategic direction:

Microsoft’s tablet “strategy” is like an Escher painting, full of staircases leading in every direction that all ultimately just go round in circles. The company so badly wants to be Prometheus, bringing fire to the mortals. Instead it’s like some drunk dude flicking matches at us. (Source: The Macalope)

Ooops

November 23rd, 2009 by Scott

Looks like the cat’s out of the bag now. As most already have heard by now, these thousands of scientists’ emails being released is pretty big for some, unsurprising for others.

All I can say is that it’s pretty obvious that these ‘global warming’ scientists got caught with their hand in the cookie jar, then tried to hide the facts.

Nice to see the truth being revealed and we can keep this ‘global warming’ junk science stuff behind us and move on to real science.

Scientists, Pols becoming more vocal about science bunk of ‘global warming’

June 29th, 2009 by Scott

Yes, that good ‘ol “global warming” is getting attention again. This time the silly Democratic congressmen raced a bill through the House faster a speeding bullet. In fact, much of it hadn’t even been written.

Why?

A growing number of scientists are coming out and publicly denouncing the theory of “global warming.”

In April, the Polish Academy of Sciences published a document challenging man-made global warming. In the Czech Republic, where President Vaclav Klaus remains a leading skeptic, today only 11% of the population believes humans play a role. In France, President Nicolas Sarkozy wants to tap Claude Allegre to lead the country’s new ministry of industry and innovation. Twenty years ago Mr. Allegre was among the first to trill about man-made global warming, but the geochemist has since recanted. New Zealand last year elected a new government, which immediately suspended the country’s weeks-old cap-and-trade program.

The collapse of the “consensus” has been driven by reality. The inconvenient truth is that the earth’s temperatures have flat-lined since 2001, despite growing concentrations of C02. Peer-reviewed research has debunked doomsday scenarios about the polar ice caps, hurricanes, malaria, extinctions, rising oceans. A global financial crisis has politicians taking a harder look at the science that would require them to hamstring their economies to rein in carbon.

As I’ve reported often here, “global warming” is not about saving the environment. It’s about imposing taxes and restrictions on free-trade.

Now that the facts are becoming so loud that it’s impossible to ignore, Obama want’s to ram this legislation through before too many people realize that all this “global warming” is nonsense.

Biden Sides With Cheney on Terror?

May 22nd, 2009 by Scott

Really? It appears so.

Recently, with Cheney’s assessment of the current administration’s lack of planning to shut down Gitmo, there has been a lot of coverage over Obama and Cheney.

However, it was Vice President Biden (the gift that keeps on giving) who once again opened his mouth to the dismay of Obama:

Biden continued: “But, look, what the president said is that this is going to be hard. It’s like opening Pandora’s Box. We don’t know what’s inside the box.”

He also said that “to the best of my knowledge” the number of prisoners “who are a real danger who are not able to returned or tried” has “not been established” by the Obama administration.

So he basically just confirmed his predecessor Dick Cheney’s analysis that the decision was taken “with little deliberation, and no plan”. (Souce: UK Telegraph)

It is sad to watch the continuous parade of the kids having they keys with Obama’s recent statements, Speaker Palosi’s accusation that the CIA lied, and everything else going on.

It is refreshing to see a clear analysis of the situation coming from former Vice President Dick Cheney. Bravo, sir.

Live Digital Caricatures with cartoon and caricature artist, Angie Jordan, is a form of entertainment that offers an experience unlike any other.

The main website offering this experience is both LiveDigitalCaricatures.com and DigitalBlacksmiths.com and the latter has just updated their site with some major redesigns and additions.

I urge you to check out the Digital Blacksmiths site, at the least for the articles and tutorials!

Angie’s Political Cartoon: Stimulus Plan Easter Nest Egg Hunt

Drawn by my wife, Angie Jordan. Not much else to say, except, I think this sums up the results of the administration’s stimulus plan:

Coldest year in almost Twenty Years!

January 10th, 2009 by Scott

Its official now that NOAA said it:

The Central and Southern regions experienced below-average temperatures, while above-average temperatures were felt in the West, Southwest and Northeast. This resulted in a near average annual temperature for the contiguous U.S. and the coolest annual temperature since 1997.

Do we see a trend? Woohoo! And its snowing as I write this!

The Year Global Warming Died

January 3rd, 2009 by Scott

(This post, originally published on Dec 28, 2008, has had additional news ammended to the end)

This is perhaps one of the BEST articles I have read in a long time. Mr. Booker, of The Telegraph (UK), has written a wonderful piece discussing why 2008 has become the year “global warming” has died.

The story begins:

The first, on May 21, headed “Climate change threat to Alpine ski resorts” , reported that the entire Alpine “winter sports industry” could soon “grind to a halt for lack of snow”. The second, on December 19, headed “The Alps have best snow conditions in a generation” , reported that this winter’s Alpine snowfalls “look set to beat all records by New Year’s Day”. (Source)

And it just gets better after that. I strongly recommend reading the entire piece. Its thoughtful and provides many specific points.

UPDATE:
Alright, I just read another article that fits in with this one so, I’m amending the new information to the original above.

Apparently, the cards are falling faster than I had thought. In a land where socialist beliefs are the norm, voices of sanity are rising fast in the European Union. Despite attempts to make challenging the disproven theory of global warming illegal in some countries, some leaders refuse to believe in the hype and are speaking up:

EU’s new figurehead believes climate change is a myth
The European Union’s new figurehead believes that climate change is a dangerous myth and has compared the union to a Communist state. (Source)

I think 2009 will see even more of a decline in support for this global warming myth. Sort of like how these have been some of the coldest months in history!
